Students will construct pieces and patterns throughout the 3 classes. All pieces will be clear glazed by your instructor Sage.
In this class, students will learn nerikomi a technique combining different colored clays to create intricate patterns and designs within the clay itself, rather than on the surface. 
Specifically multiple colors of clay are marbled or combined to create various patterns and designs. 
Different colored clays are layered and compressed to construct a solid block with a pattern running through the inside. 
The block is then sliced in a cross-section to reveal the  patterns, which  can range from simple stripes to marbled swirls to intricate images. 
These patterned pieces of clay can be shaped and formed into functional pottery or sculptures.
